{"id":836,"date":"2018-03-01T18:59:15","date_gmt":"2018-03-01T18:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thestarfolk.com\/?p=836"},"modified":"2018-06-29T19:15:48","modified_gmt":"2018-06-29T19:15:48","slug":"conversations-with-nature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thestarfolk.com\/?p=836","title":{"rendered":"Conversations with Nature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have a film installation at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theresbox.com\/\">Resonance Box<\/a> sound art gallery for the month of March!\u00a0 \u00a0The Stafolk plays the closing night March 31st 7pm!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestarfolk.com\/?attachment_id=837\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-837\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-837\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thestarfolk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BadlandsCello2cc.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thestarfolk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BadlandsCello2cc.png 640w, http:\/\/www.thestarfolk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BadlandsCello2cc-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The event includes a screening of a short film by\u00a0<b>Jacqueline Ultan<\/b>\u00a0(of Jelloslave)\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><i>Conversations With Nature,\u00a0<\/i><\/b>which captures her live cello improvisations in a stunning and remote vista of the\u00a0<b>South Dakota Badlands<\/b>, followed by Q&amp;A with Jacqueline and the filmmakers (<b>Allison LaBonne<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Brian Tighe<\/b>) along with a live performance by their mutual ensemble\u00a0<b>The Starfolk (<\/b>melodic chamber pop featuring<b>\u00a0<\/b>vocals, guitar, bass, and cello).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The film has a 15 minute run time distilling the best moments sonically and visually from two days of camping and composing live in the Badlands.\u00a0 This was an amazing experience for the trio necessitating an evolution of their musical collaboration to include filmmaking in support of Jacqueline\u2019s vision of letting her music magnify and be directly fed by the vivid and sensual expressiveness of the natural world.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have a film installation at Resonance Box sound art gallery for the month of March!\u00a0 \u00a0The Stafolk plays the closing night March 31st 7pm!
